HOW EQUILIXIR WORKS
Equilixir assists your horse with balancing its own built-in self-regulatory mechanisms. For example, the correct use of Equilixir can support your horse’s own, built-in regulation of inflammation, which can contribute to reducing the need for anti-inflammatory drugs and injections. This in turn can reduce your horse’s exposure to treatments that can restrict its freedom to compete or negatively affect its overall health and performance because of their side effect profiles.
Simplied messaging on dose:
The dose depends on why the horse needs Equilixir.
1. Whenever introducing Equilixir for the first time a loading dose of 60ml twice daily should be initiated for 5 to 6 continuous weeks. A 5L bottle would be sufficient for this.
2. This loading dose of 60ml twice daily can be continued if promising progress is seen and more progress is desired, or it may be lower to 30ml twice daily. However, a horse can safely be maintained on 60ml twice daily indefinitely.
3. Whenever lowering the dose monitor the horse for 2 to 4 weeks to ensure that the lower dose is effective for maintaining the desired outcome.
3. If a horse is injured it should remain on the loading dose of 60 twice daily until it is fully recovered (as long as necessary). The dose can then be reduced to 30ml twice daily and the horse must be monitored for 4 weeks to ensure that the dose was not lowered prematurely. If Equilixir is eventually discontinued the horse should be monitored for at least 2 weeks.

One of the primary ingredients in Equilixir is unrefined, organic sesame oil that was extracted using traditional cold-pressing methods. Sesame oil has stood the test of time and scientific interrogation. It is still hailed The Queen Of Oils in India and is an integral ingredient used in Ayurveda, an ancient healing system still popular today. The value of Ayurveda in equine care is documented in India’s first equine veterinary manual called the Shalihotra Samhita, which dates back to 3 BC. Cold-pressed sesame oil is favoured in Ayurvedic medicated oils, because of its unique health promoting properties and because of its superior resistance to rancidity, compared
to other oils. These properties and benefits have been validated by scientific research.

Advertising and discussion around edible oils is currently fixated on the omega 3:6 ratio, which is a valid consideration. This consideration, however, is a grossly oversimplified way of evaluating edible oils.
