Description
Contain the lowest amount of starch but the highest proportion of starch digested in the small intestine. Oats is a ‘safe’ grain to feed because of its high crude fibre content in the outer hull. Oats can be fed with hay and roughage for maintenance, breeding or working horses. Suitable for all other animal species for maintenance, growth, production and breeding in combination with other grains.
Whole 50kg – can be fed whole or soaked
Whole Clipped 50kg – the pointed ends of the fibrous hull are removed, which increases the relative starch to fibre content.
Crushed 40kg – crushing the oats slightly increases the digestibility of the grain
